Bernadette McDonald is a Canadian-born author of several non-fiction books, primarily on mountain culture topics. She lectures on a variety of mountain topics for universities, festivals, and alpine clubs. She has a number of honors, including the Alberta Order of Excellence, the Summit of Excellence Award, the King Albert Award and several mountain literary prizes. She was Canada’s representative at the United Nations to launch the International Year of Mountains. She lives with her husband Alan McDonald in Banff, Alberta and in Naramata, British Columbia.

Four Points Books is an independent bookstore located in downtown Invermere, BC.  We are family-owned, passionate about books and proud to serve the Columbia Valley!  Four Points Books carries a broad range of titles, spanning all subjects, along with greeting cards, gifts and stationery.  In addition to adult fiction/non-fiction genres, the shop carries a wide selection of books about the outdoors, indigenous topics, and juvenile/YA books.  Four Points Books is actively involved with its community, including working with local schools, not-for-profits and hosting regular events with guest speakers.
