John Pitcher grew up in England, and he would enjoy the countryside and bird watching with his family. Later in life he was fortunate to land a career as a park interpreter for Parks Canada, working in Jasper, Banff, and Kootenay national parks. John is now retired and lives in Invermere, where he enjoys hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking, and volunteering on citizen science projects and for the Summit Trail Makers Society.

Sherry Dewey is a nature enthusiast lucky enough to have been living in our beautiful Columbia Valley since the 1970s. She is happiest when spending time in nature, birding, hiking, biking, kayaking, nordic skiing and snowshoeing. Sherry is a board member of the Windermere District Historical Society and a member of Wildsight and the Summit Trail Makers Society, helping when needed to support our history and the wild.
